Terry Gillan started dancing at the age of six in Glasgow, Scotland under the instruction of top teacher Myrna Kennedy. Terry was very successful as a dancer winning the Scottish Regional Oireachtas many times and continued on to proudly win the All-Ireland Championship title. He received his teaching diploma in Dublin in 1979 and also successfully received his adjudicator’s diploma. An Coimisiun appointed him as a grade examiner in 2005.
He is currently the Vice President for An Coimsiun for North America and the Vice Chairman for the Oireachtas Committee. He started a successful teaching career in his native Scotland before moving to Dublin where together with Philip Owens and Elaine Kavanagh he achieved many worldwide successes with the Naomh Padraig School. |
